Grand Cayman

On day 3 we were in Grand Cayman. I've never seen water so beautiful and clear. I think I want to retire there. There was so much to see and we only got to the beach. Maybe next time we'll have more time to explore. And there will be a next time.

Us and the Poggemann's (our cruisin' partners).
We kayaked out a mile downshore on Seven Mile Beach to go snorkeling.
(I think I am going to get my own kayak -- that was a good arm workout.)

Nate didn't want to get sunburned - thus the t-shirt on even while snorkeling.

Cozumel

Day two was Cozumel. We did SNUBA. For those who don't know, snuba is a combination of scuba diving and snorkeling. We are hooked. It was a little disconcerting at first; I wasn't sure that I would be able to stay calm enough to just breath underwater. But we did good. We saw some cool fish, a lobster, and an eel. We want to do it again and most likely get SCUBA certified.

I had to get a picture with the authentic mariachi band.

For another funny story about our visit in Cozumel, click here and read about the bag (about half way down the post).

Big brown fish?

Felix, is this the fish to which you were referring?

Key West

Our first port of call was Key West. We rented bikes to get around the island. I really liked it. It was a fun way to see everything.

Key West is the southern most poin in the continental United States. The people statues were a little weird though.Next we visited Hemingway's house. He built the first swimming pool on the island. In 1939 it cost $20,000.00. Funny, pools still cost about the same.
The beach was beautiful and clear. (That's our boat in the background).

Cruisin'

Nate and I finally got a week to ourselves. We left the kids with Grandma, and joined our friends, Jenn and Felix, on a cruise in the Carribbean. We had a great time and came home very relaxed.

We sailed on the Costa Magica out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Of course, the food on the cruise was great and there was always more to try. This was one of our formal nights.
The last night was Roman night and everyone came to dinner wearing togas.

Here, fishie, fishie, fishie. . .
