Vigorously promote patriotic sanitary activities.

Anyone know of any patriotic sanitary activities?
I saw reference to this site on this blog and had to check it out. You can also commission a chinese propaganda poster with you painted into it!! There are some funny ones. Check it out here.

Beach Report 1

I am finally getting around to blogging about our trip to South Padre. We took 2 gigs worth of pictures. It is quite a bit to wade through. Anyway, here's what the kids liked about the sandy part of the beach.

Toby hates to get dirty, but loves to get covered in sand. Hazel was trying it out too!
Toby and Aspen helped the guys with the sandcastle.
Kirsten dug herself a little pool. Isaac joined Toby as one of the mudmen.
Toby and McKay got a littled buried
Digging holes is today's choice for Aspen, Kirsten, Amy, Hazel and Cruz.

Andee really did like the sand. She ate quite a bit.

Rainy Day Holiday

It has been raining here for the last 14 days straight, which is great for my garden, not so great for the local Fourth of July festivities. So we spent a rainy Independence Day at the movies seeing Ratatouille and doing a little shopping. It did clear up some in the afternoon and we went to see the Round Rock Express play the Omaha (I don't remember whats) at the Dell Diamond. The game was actually pretty exciting and the Express won 9-8. It started sprinkling at the end of the game but held off and we watched a great fireworks show. Which is, according to my kids, the best part of the Fourth of July! Hope everyone got their share of sparklers and bbq-ing. We missed you all.

A Young Man Prepared

Today, Toby was ordained a deacon by Nate, with Grandpa and Mike. We were so glad that Earl and Mike could be here to share this special day with Toby. He was a little nervous, but very excited. I can't believe I am the Mom of a 12 year old! But I am lucky to now have two priesthood holders in my home. Toby started with his priesthood duties today by going out with Nate to collect fast offerings after church. With Isaac's baptism yesterday, and Toby's ordination today, it has been a very special weekend for us.

As clean as earth right after rain

Yesterday, Isaac was baptized and confirmed a member of the church. It was a great day! We were so glad that Grandpa and Grandma Brunner were able to come to be here for this special event. Mike and Mindy and family also came up from San Antonio for the weekend.

Aspen made this great cake to help celebrat Isaac's baptism. His favorite Primary Song is the one that starts: "I like to look for rainbows, whenever there is rain." (Click here to hear to song.)
After Isaac's baptism, we took the family to Eddie V's (our favorite surf and turf place) for a fancy celebratory dinner. The waiter even arranged for this great dessert just for Isaac.
