It's over

Summer ended today...school started. Aspen and Isaac were both so excited to start school. Aspen has had her first day outfit out and her bag packed for 2 weeks! Toby won't start for another 10 days or so because of the surgery. So today is a quiet day at home for me! I love ahving the kids home for summer, but then I love having them go back. I wish we had year round school so we could do this little cycle more often. For now, I'm glad to get back to a routine and a little mom time alone.

Gnarly, Dude!

We took Toby's bandages off because his back was itchy. He is going to have some wicked scars. The stitches are dissovable. I'm still afraid that it's all going to open up again if that tape comes off. That happened to me with some incisions on my back. Nevertheless, Toby is doing great and has regained all the range of motion that he had before the surgery. He won't start school for another week or so though. He is still a little sore and has a hard time sitting in low backed chairs with holes in the lower parts of them (folding chairs). Church yesterday was a bit uncomfortable even with the pillow he brought. But he is recovering splendidly.

Can you guess?

It's a little broken up from bleaching it, but can you guess what this was? I found it in an empty flower pot on my front porch. I let Aspen collect it not really thinking that through. Then I was a bit worried about rabies. Luckily, according to wikipedia, rabies is spread only through saliva, so we were safe.

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Whenever I go out to water the flowers and the lawn Hazel comes with me. She loves the water. She always comes back in drenched. So I decided to let her have a turn. I couldn't get the hose back. Now she thinks that it is her job.
