Rainy Day Holiday
It has been raining here for the last 14 days straight, which is great for my garden, not so great for the local Fourth of July festivities. So we spent a rainy Independence Day at the movies seeing Ratatouille and doing a little shopping. It did clear up some in the afternoon and we went to see the Round Rock Express play the Omaha (I don't remember whats) at the Dell Diamond. The game was actually pretty exciting and the Express won 9-8. It started sprinkling at the end of the game but held off and we watched a great fireworks show. Which is, according to my kids, the best part of the Fourth of July! Hope everyone got their share of sparklers and bbq-ing. We missed you all.

We were boring. We stayed in and "heard" the war going on outside. The last two years (this one even more than last) has seen a marked increase in the amount of illegal ordinance being shot off. There was maybe 100 major concussion explosions just in the neighborhood. They had to be aerial charges being set off. They sounded like mortars. LOTS of firecrackers. Anything that leaves the ground or explodes is illegal in Clark County. But to the west in the next county they sell the stuff and to the north on the indian reservation they sell the stuff.
ReplyDeleteMaybe we saw Ratatouille at the same time! So how did you food "snobs" like it? Doing French Cuisine now? We liked the quote, "Sorry we're rude, but we're French!"
ReplyDeleteWe have been doing some French. I need to pick out some recipes and go buy the stuff--maybe tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteYou know the illegal stuff is more fun. Remember the time the cops came . . .
