Bluebonnets Take 2

I dragged the family out on Sunday evening to take our annual bluebonnet photos. Thanks to them for humoring me. I still need to try again with Hazel. They say the third time's the charm...

  1. It is a law in the State of Texas that all parents of children are required, at least once per calendar year, to plant their children in a patch of bluebonnets and take a picture.

  2. I like the pics. Exspecially the one with all the kids. I am jealous with the flowers and all the green.

  4. Do these flowers grow everywhere or did you have to go somewhere special to get the pictures. I read a book to my class called The Legend of the Blue Bonnett. It is a pretty good story. It is just a picutre book but when we talk about legends it is a good one to read.

  5. These flowers just grow everywhere. Although you see them mostly along highways. So it is sometimes difficult to find a patch that is safe. There were cars zipping by, but we were a ways off the road. Spring is the prettiest time of year in Texas: there are wildflowers blooming everywhere from February through June. But the best is definitely the bluebonnets in march. Other varieties of wild flowers pop up in the fall too, as long as we get enough rain. Last year was a little brown. But the year before that was beautiful and green the entire year. Everyone is welcome to come visit and take pictures anytime!!

  7. Have you read The Legend of the Blue Bonnets? I thinks it's Tomie de Paola. I love it.

  8. The picture of you and Nate is really nice. We have no bluebonnets this year. I haven't ever found a good place to take pix, so we don't have any yet. Maybe next year!

  9. Better be careful, Min. Don't want to get in trouble with the Texas CPS for not taking a picture of your kids with bluebonnets.
