For family night this week we wrote poems about our favorite scripture stories. Here they are:
2000 Warriors
By Isaac, with help from Betsy
The strippling warriors went to fight
To protect their families.
They had the faith to do what's right.
They prayed upon their knees.
Their mothers taught them to follow the Lord,
They knew that it was true.
2000 sons, with shields and swords,
Won the fight and lived to share His word.
The Tower of Babel
by Toby
The people who built
the Babylon tow'r
were very vain and proud.
The Lord took their tongues
and tied them up and they could
not understand a spoken word.
The Lamoni Limmerick
by Nate
There once was a king named Lamoni.
Lamanites stole his sheep left and right.
Ammon whacked off their arms
but they did him no harm.
Servants testified "I saw it with my own eye."
ABINADI
by Nate for Aspen
A prophet called of God
Bearing testimony of their sins.
In hiding for a time
Disguised, he returned
Alma listened to his words.
Noah had him killed
In the flames, his final testimony.
Great activity. Where's Betsy's poem?

ReplyDeleteAmmon was a great servant.
ReplyDeleteThe king's daughters were all creeps.
When asked if he would marry one,
he said, "I'd rather watch your sheeps."
I helped A LOT on Isaac's poem.
ReplyDeleteThese are all really impressive! What a good idea!
