Christmas Countdown Day 3

I know I'm a few days behind in posting. Sorry. Blogging tends to get pushed much farther down the to-do list when I busy doing stuff for/with the kids. So now it's nearly midnight (about the only time I can find to blog without interruption) and I'm trying to catch up.

We tried out my new Christmas present from Nate. We made pizza and Isaac made this little movie about it. He is using my new Christmas present from Nate: An awesome Flip camera (does video in HD and is smaller than my cell phone!) Nate gave it to me early so that I could use it during the holidays. It is pretty cool and simple to use and make movies. So Isaac filmed, and the others helped to make pizza. Here it is:

***disclaimer: while the camera shoots in HD, it does NOT have image stabilization. So it is a little jittery.

Christmas Countdown Day 2

Today's celebration activity was designing Christmas Cards. Everyone designed their own card and I'll order some of each. Then we'll send them to all ya'll! You'll have to check your mail to see which one you get! (Hopefully I'll get them out by next week - we'll see.)
Here's pictures of yesterday's snowflake cutting. Everyone did a great job. Some were very intricate. (Hazel made paper dolls instead.) If you click on the picture you can see better the seven swans a swimming, the 12 drummers drumming, the 8 maids a milking, and the five golden rings. Also, Nate had an arrow theme going. He always does a great job. He's just good at everything.

sweet home, sweet home

That's what Hazel said when we got home on Saturday. And though I am certainly glad to be in my own bed again, I started missing the beach yesterday. It was cold and windy (at least by Texas standards) and all my pictures looked so warm and relaxing. We had a great time in South Padre, especially with Jake and Amy and their family with us. (Check out their blog for more on our activities there.) We are looking forward to seeing them again soon! But for now, I'm excited about Christmas.

I got this new advent calendar and I've filled each little box with a fun seasonal activity. Today's countdown activity is snowflake making. This is one of our traditions. I'll show the finished product tomorrow. This year, we're going to celebrate every day!
