Isaac Visits with Frog and Toad*

Isaac was outside playing and found our resident reptiles. There is a crawdad hole in our lawn that is usually full of water and there are a couple of toads that live there. They are pretty big. The third toad is much smaller. Isaac had fun playing with them. I don't know how much fun the toads had...
*(Actually, the reptiles are three toads, but I liked this title better.)

  1. Technically, the three reptile frogs are amphibians, not reptiles.

  2. My oops. They are indeed amphibians, but they are toads, not frogs. I looked them up and the dark one is a Houston Toad. I am not sure about the lighter one. They are on the endangered species list.

  3. maybe there's some kind of federal grant money you could get for being the caretaker of endangered species.

  4. The lighter ones are Gulf Coast Toads. Trust me. We know. They like to have 'parties' in our pond late at night. ;)

  5. I emailed the local government people who told me that they are indeed Gulf Coast Toads.
