I would have set the smoke alarm off and melted all the icing on my cake if we'd had all the necessary candles.

That isn't remotely close to setting off smoke alarms. Dad's cake from a couple years ago on the other hand.... You can see a pic of it on my blog.

Old is relative. I am old, until I think of my MOM who just turned 86 and then I am young. Enjoy each part of your life. IT only happens once. Love you.
