Special Effects

It's not a Photoshop effect, it's my truck encased in ice.

Last week we had an ice storm. It wasn't bad. No ice on the roads. Nothing to stop everyone from going about their daily business. My car was another story, however. There was enough ice on it that I couldn't open the doors, or see to drive. Luckily, the wind and rain only iced 3 sides of my car. Thank heaven for remotes. The car was locked and my vehicle only has a keyhole on the driver's side, none on any of the other doors. I was able to get in on the passenger side. I climbed through to start the car and crank the defroster to melt the ice on the windows, so that I could take the kids to school (we were already late). I kicked my door open, but the lock and handle on the outside were still frozen solid and would stay that way for another 3 hours. It took 15 minutes to melt the ice on the windows enough to safely drive the kids to school - late. Reminds me that I need to clean out my garage again so that I can park my car inside it.

  1. That is just crazy! Did I mention that I finally get to park in the garage. Jake moved around a lot of his stuff (junk) to make space.

  2. I did more than move around stuff ... I spent a week of spare time cleaning, throwing out, building oraganizational accutraments and sorting. Sure I still ahve a few prize posseions in my half the garage, but Amy's side is 100% free from her wall to the 50 yd line."moved stuff around" ...ppppppppppffffffffff!

  4. Awesome pic :) We can fit 2 cars in our garage, but it makes it so hard to get the kids in the car when both are in there... I miss the days when I had it all to myself and Bill parked in the drive way. HOA sent us a letter about his LOUD, GREEN GEICO car and said he had to park it in the garage. What party poopers! ha ha- Laura Zang
