NYC part 3

So this is the last of the NYC posts.

We took the kids to see Mary Poppins. The boys were a little reluctant when we told the what we were seeing. "Kind of girly and little kiddish". But it was fabulous! Great sets and singing and we all were enthralled. We did consume an entire box of gummy treats to keep Hazel from being too noisy. If you get a chance to see Mary Poppins, it is well worth the price.

We went to Ellis Island and I was able to find some Kerksiek's that came through. I thought it was pretty cool.

This is the famous Bull near Wall Street. We opted for a photo op in front of the bull, rather than the other end (which quite a few other people were taking).

The American Museum of Natural History. Very cool museum. We spent about 4 or 5 hours there. Unfortunately, it was field trip day for many other day cares. So it was a little noisy and crowded. We just tried to stay out of their way.
These pictures are in the bio-diversity exhibit. This was my favorite exhibit. There were so many things to see. The kids really liked it too. Toby knew what most of the creatures were too!

Gems and minerals. Isaac spent the whole time here looking for the diamonds. I like his mohawked silhouette in this one!
Also like this thermal camera. Can you tell who was in the picture?

We rode the subway a lot. It was hot and muggy and a lot of blocks to walk, so the train was a nice break.
We rode the Ferris Wheel in Toys "R" Us. The cars were all little kid themed. Toby only wanted to ride if he could get in a non-girlie/kiddie car: like barbie or care bears.
Times Square
We ate at the Carnegie Deli. Good sandwiches, really big too!
I wish we could have gone to a taping. But a walk-by was it for this trip.
Well, the trip was awesome. We will definitely need to go back. There were quite a few things that didn't get seen or done. So we'll save it for next time. I think we'll fly though. 6 days of driving was 4 days too many. We could have used those four days in NYC instead of the car. But it is all an experience and we got to see so much of America.

  3. I miss NY! Museum of Natural History is in our old neighborhood and where we headed on rainy days when we couldn't go to the park. My friends and I would chat in the gems and minerals room while the kids scrambled up and down the short stairs and ramps. Glad you had fun!!
