"If ye are prepared, ye shall not fear"
Well we are preparing for Hurricane Rita to hit the Texas coast on Friday. It will still be a category 1 hurricane when it reaches the Austin area. They say that if it is still a category 5 hurricane when it hits it will be the biggest in recorded history to hit Texas. Many of the evacuees from the gulf coast are coming to Austin. Mostly we will receive a lot of rain and up to 70 mile an hour winds. So I think I might take down the basketball standard and the trampoline. Otherwise we have gassed up the cars (Nate had to wait in line for 20 mintues) and are going to fill up our water coolers (all the water is gone from the stores). I'm sure we'll be fine and not badly affected by the storm. But better safe than sorry. We'll probably lose power and gas prices will go up again. And there will likely be some flooding (fortunately our house is on the top of a little hill). But this part of Texas receives a lot of severe weather anyway. Anyway, I've included a link to the TV news station if you are interested.

They are calling this a Texas-sized hurricane. The hurricane is almost 600 miles across -- big enough to nearly cover the entire state of Texas. (Everything is bigger in Texas--event he weather!)
It's at times like these that you remember all the warnings and counsel from our leaders that we need to be prepared and have food storage and supplies. You never think you'll need it and then a situation comes along and you are so glad to be prepared. There is truly a peaceful feeling to being prepared. I am glad that we don't need to rush out and get anything. The Lord has prepared the way for us if we heed His counsel.

Photo Shoot
I was trying to get some pictures of Toby to post. It seems that there aren't many. Mostly he was being goofy. But I liked this one.
I like this one of Hazel because you can see her smile even though she was moving her hand. Kind of a cool effect, even if unintended.
Hazel is learning to roll over!! She almost has it. She gets frustrated when she only gets half way. But she loves to hold her head up and see what's going on!!
