A New Prayer

In the General Relief Society Broadcast last night, President Monson said, "Do not pray for tasks to be equal to your abilities. Pray for abilities to be equal to the tasks."

The Best Husband in the World

A few reasons why I have the best husband in the world:
  • Nate cleaned up the kitchen and living room for me last night while I was at the RS broadcast. He even vacuumed the floors and did all the dishes (including the ones that wouldn't fit or couldn't go in the dishwasher!)
  • Nate didn't complain when I called after the broadcast to let him know I was going out with for dessert with my friends.
  • Nate didn't even complain when we ended up not getting home until midnight. (The wait at the Cheesecake factory was over an hour!)
  • Nate watched the kids all afternoon while I took a nap because I was so tired from staying out all night.
  • Nate brought me flowers for no reason last week:)

Random stuff

Since I've been slacking on the blog posting, here's a bunch of random pics from the last month.

I have no idea where Hazel comes up with these faces! This one looks so UNlike her that it is funny.
Fall means more hot air balloon sightings. This guy flies over our house at least once a week.
Hazel found an easier way to drink from the fountain. Since it always shoots over the edge, she just stands outside with her mouth open wide!!
One of my favorite shrubs.
Finally enjoying corn ON the cob.
Copper keeps us company.

All-Natural Halloween Decorations

One foggy morning last night there was an especially heavy dew. We found spider webs, just like this one, all around our yard's fence, on the gates, the bird feeders, the trampoline, everywhere. The dew drops hung on all the webs like jewels. It was pretty cool to see.

Maybe it was too drastic...

Toby had been growing out his hair for a long time. He really hates to have his hair cut and because I don't think hair is that big a deal, I have been indulging and just trimming the edges and keeping it neat but it was getting long. Toby has great hair, so I didn't think much of it. However, we started getting comments from people at church and a few from school. Then the ward held their annual youth standards night and we got more comments. So, I decided that maybe we should cut a bit more off. This is the end result. Toby hates it and I wish I would have left it longer. Oh well, this way, Toby won't have to get another haircut until Christmas!
