Christmas

Christmas Eve with Jake and Amy and Jenn and Aaron and family. It is nice to be with family on Christmas Eve, it's one of the things I remember most about Chirstmas Eve as a child.

MERRY CHRISTMAS MORNING!!

Hazel wanted to see what everyone got!
Toby got binoculars
Aspen got a new outfit for her american girl doll.
Hazel got a spinning light fan.
Isaac knows that Santa is real because he got a pocket knife for Christmas. Mom and Dad would never have bought that for him. (He cut himself 3 times the first day.)

Sledding part 2

Jake got a great sled to pull behind his four-wheeler. The kids loved it. Jake has a lot a yard to pull them around for a very long ride.

The snow would get in their faces when the four-wheeler went faster.

Toby loved the ride.

Hazel trying to do a snow angel. Aspen and I had to move her legs and arms for her.

Family photoshoot

Here's Grandpa and Grandma with the ten grandchildren that were staying at Jeremy and Robin's house.

Gingerbread Architects

The kids are great gingerbread house builders. I think it was a challenge to see who could put the most candy onto their milk carton sized houses.

Seeing the Lights

As a kid I remember going to see the light son Temple Square every year. So I took the kids while we were in Salt Lake. Nate didn't make it because he was at the hospital with Karl (who broke his collar bone snowboarding). We went with Erika and her family. The displays were neat. I liked the nativity scenes around the reflecting pool. It was a very cold night, but the kids were great and didn't complain, even after walking 3 blocks to Temple Square and the 3 blocks back to the car. Hazel's cheeks and nose were very rosy; but the rest of her was toasty warm.

NOWS (noze)

When Toby was a little boy he put the s from the beginning of a word on the end of the word. So snow was nows and snowman was nowmans. Hazel does the same thing now. She loved the snow never got cold or tired of playing outside. (I did though so we had to go in when it got dark or was lunch time)

Hannah and Aspen had a lot of fun going doing the hill in Jeremy and Robin's yard. (I think Hannah is worried about hitting me as she goes down the hill). The front of their sled went under the fence a few times. Finally I told them to bail out of the sled before they actually went over the edge into the canal. They thought that was fun too. Hazel really did like to go sledding. She just doesn't want to cooperate with the picture taking mom.
Toby's first time for a snow angel.
Because we only had one sled for 10 children, we doubled and tripled up on the sled for rides at the park. Garrett, as well as all the others, wanted to go every time.

Our early Christmas

I am just now getting to posting our pictures from the last 2 weeks. We had a lot of fun. We are glad to be back to enjoy a couple of days vacation at home before school and work start again.

We had the kids open most of their gifts (all 2 of them) the night before we left on vacation.
