Wuv, Twoo Wov -- Wuv is what bwings us togevveh today!

Today was our 12th -- no 11th -- anniversary. (I was talking to my friend and actually made that mistake yesterday; Still have baby induced brain muck.) Anyway, Nate and I have been married for 11 years!! Sounds insane. Sometimes it seems longer, sometimes I still feel like I'm playing house. But I am still glad I married Nate and love him more now than when we were first married. So we celebrated with all the kids at TGI Fridays (yes I know it sounds so romantic - but I just had jaw surgery and can't eat anything good and we have a 3 month old baby that has become a momma's girl and so leaving here with a sitter isn't quite feasible yet.) So we'll do better celebrating in a couple of months. I am going to go with Nate, and Hazel, on a work trip to San Francisco in a couple of weeks. SO we are calling that our anniversary celebration. Anyway, Nate did get me flowers - lots of flowers - enough to fill 3 large vases - as a token of his affection. A girl can never have too many flowers.

Also a Happy Anniversary to Jake and Amy. They're celebrating today too!!

Priceless!

Jack wakes up with a huge hangover after attending his company's Valentine's Day Party. Jack is not normally a drinker, but the drinks didn't taste like alcohol at all. He doesn't even remember how he got home from the party. As bad as he was feeling, he wondered if he did something wrong.Jack forced himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he sees is a couple of aspirins next to a glass of water on the bedside table. And, next to them, a single red rose! Jack sits up and sees his clothing in front of him, all clean and pressed. He looks around the room and sees that it is in perfect order, spotlessly clean. So is the rest of the house. He takes the aspirins, cringing when he sees a huge black eye staring back at him in the bathroom mirror. Then he notices a note hanging on the corner of the mirror written in red with little hearts on it and a kiss mark from his wife in lipstick:"Honey, breakfast is on the stove. I left early to go get groceries to make you your favorite dinner tonight. I love you, darling! Love, Jillian "Jack stumbles to the kitchen, and sure enough, there is hot breakfast, steaming hot coffee and the morning newspaper. His son is also at the table, eating.Jack asks, "Son... what happened last night?" "Well, you came home after 3 A.M., drunk and out of your mind. You fell over the coffee table and broke it, then puked in the hallway and got that black eye when you ran into the door." Confused he asked his son, "So, why is everything in such perfect order, so clean. Why do I have a rose and breakfast on the table waiting for me?"His son replies, "Oh, THAT! Well, Mom dragged you to the bedroom, and when she tried to take your pants off, you screamed, "Leave me alone, lady, I'm married!"

Good as New - in 3 Months

I finally got my stitches out. The doctor says the scar will just blend into my ear. The swelling is almost all gone. Only dime sized spots near my ears are still numb. ANd that should go away soon. My hair is also growing back. THank goodness. But it will look a little odd for a while. The only sad thing is my diet. The doctor told me at my surgery to not chew anything for two weeks. Needless to say smushy food gets a little boring. Unfortunately, he meant that I can not chew anything until my jaw is fully healed - in 3 months!!! ARRGHHH. I am very tired of smoothies, yogurt, pudding, soup and mashed potatoes. It is difficult to have a well rounded diet when you can't chew anything. I guess this will help me lose some more weight. At least I can still eat ice cream!!

Families are Forever

We were sad to see everyone go. But everyone had a great time.

Family Fun

My kids loved having Maddy and Axel around to play with. I'm not sure that Maddy and Axel enjoyed their enthusiasm early in the mornings though. Isaac would get up first and wake up everyone to play.

Texas Tourist

So with Mom and Dad and Maddy and Axel here visiting we did a little sight seeing. We went to San Antonio and went to the temple, visited Mike and Mindy and saw the Alamo and the Riverwalk. I took Maddy to visit the University of Texas campus. We took a walking tour. I was very impressed. I'd never visited campus before. It made me want to go back to school. Hook 'em Horns!!
We also went out to Fredericksburg to visit the Wildseed Farms.

Lastly we went downtown to watch the Congress Avenue bats emerge from under the bridge. This colony is the largest urban bat colony in the world. There are millions of bats living under the bridge. There are so many that they show up on the weather radar. It takes 30 - 45 minutes for them all to emerge. It is very cool to watch.

Hazel is getting to be so much fun. She is a very happy girl in the morning and wakes up smiling. A friend sent her the cute dress. Thanks Anne.
