Austin has been preparing for this ice storm for 4 days. There have been runs on the grocery stores. Roads, especially bridges and overpasses are closed because of flooding on Sunday and Monday and ice last night and today. Businesses have closed for the 2nd day in a row. School was out yesterday for the MLK holiday and it is closed today because of the ice. We woke up this morning to ice on everything. All north facing surfaces are covered in 1/4 inch of ice. I am glad that I have all my family home with me today. It is nice to have a day or two at home. Because it wasn't planned we can just spend the day having fun, playing games, making cookies, and watching movies. Tomorrow is supposed to actually snow!!! We might get a 3rd day of staying home.
Wow, that is some ice! I think I'd rather have snow. Have fun at home with the kiddies!

ReplyDeleteThe kids are home here too, and we are expecting to hear that they will be home again tomorrow Mike is supposed to start tomorrow, but we'll see.
I think you got it worse than us, but we do still have ice.
phoebe's home for a snow day too - we just have wind and cold - and have to go to school.

this christmas we got all the brady bunch episodes on dvd - so far we're up to season 3 - we need a day at home so we can finish them up.
sounds like you are going to have a lot of fun. We are still having very 'warm' weather for this time of year. No snow or ice. Just a little rain. Have fun and stay home.
ReplyDeleteNate was home yesterday today and we will have another snow day tomorrow!!! He will most likely be home for that too. It is supposed to snow again tomorrow. My kids are loving it.
