Anyone interested?

A friend of mine just finished the Ragnar Relay Race series event that was near here and it seemed pretty cool. You can see some of her thoughts here.
There is a race from this series being held June 19-20th, 2009 in Utah. It's 180 miles, along the back of the Wasatch Mountains, 12 runners, each running 3 times with leg distances from 3 miles to 8.5 miles. I think it would be pretty cool to run. Is anyone interested in joining me? We'd need twelve runners, two big vans and a couple of drivers to help support. You can check it out here. There is a early registration discount deadline of Jan 31, 2009. Save $200 by registering early.

  3. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!! I don't know if you remember me posting about this, but I did this series in Arizona. Don't be fooled, this is really, really hard. You do realize that 1) you basically get no sleep and 2) everybody needs to be cheered on / supported? This means that basically, you drive 180 miles at 5 miles an hour, doubling back often. Then when you are exhausted, you have to drive way far away to find a hotel or sleep on the ground. On the last legs, you have slept 2 hours in a car in the past 24 and then even after that, you have to drive home. That being said, if everyone else does it I will. But be prepared for a lot of the people to back out at the last minute--it is almost impossible to wrangle 12 people at once and convince all of them this is a good idea.
